God Himself has given a perfectly sufficient testimony regarding the reality of eternal life:
1) Jesus’ SUBSTITUTIONARY LIFE (the WATER) and ATONING DEATH (the BLOOD) are the historical, external testimony that MUST be RECEIVED by faith for salvation.

“As we come to Christ, empty-handed, claiming no merit of our own, but clinging by faith to His blood and righteousness, we are justified. We pass immediately from a state of condemnation and spiritual death to a state of pardon, acceptance, and the sure hope of eternal life. Our sins are blotted out, and we are “clothed” with the righteousness of Jesus Christ. In our standing before God, we will never be more righteous, even in heaven, than we were the day we trusted Christ, or we are now. Obviously in our daily experience we fall far short of the perfect righteousness God requires. But because He has imputed to us the perfect righteousness of His Son, He now sees us as being just as righteous as Christ Himself.” — Jerry Bridges
2) The HOLY SPIRIT is the experiential, internal testimony that URGES us to TRUST in the PERSON and WORK of Jesus.
John 16:7-8, 13-14
CONFIDENCE in salvation can be attained, NOT by scrutinizing what WE have done, but by simply asking, “Do I BELIEVE the TRUTH of what GOD in CHRIST has DONE?”

Christian CONTENTMENT at its root is the life ALTERING, HEART-level belief that God is not only GOOD Himself, but is HIMSELF our GOOD.

The Christian, in midst of suffering OR joy, can equally proclaim; God HOLDS my TODAY, my TOMORROW, and my ETERNITY..

Not only is our love for God displayed in our love for His people; love-FUELED OBEDIENCE to the COMMANDS of God IS the WAY to love His people.
Matthew 7:12, 22:37-40
“Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.” Now you love yourself suitably when you love God better than yourself. What, then, you aim at in yourself you must aim at in your neighbor, namely, that he may love God with a perfect affection. For you do not love him as yourself, unless you try to draw him to that good which you are yourself pursuing… From this precept proceed the duties of human society.” — St. Augustine
In God’s wisdom, He has DESIGNED for our greatest JOY to be a by-PRODUCT of living for His GLORY. This ELIMINATES the BURDEN of religious DUTY.

Born-again FAITH in Christ allows us to wisely REJECT the UNGODLY ways of the WORLD and LIVE in VICTORIOUS obedience to God because we WANT to!

Genuine Christian love is irreducibly SIMPLE and yet inimitably FOREIGN and thus we must keep coming back to REFLECT on and EXAMINE it in OURSELVES.

Love begins with a DOCTRINE (The TRUTH of WHO God IS)
Acts 14:16-17
It produces DELIGHT (JOY in WHAT He has DONE)
1 Peter 1:8
And, leads to DEVOTION (COMMITMENT to LIVE to SHOW and TELL OTHERS)
John 15:10-12
“Love is the overflow and expansion of joy in God, which gladly meets the needs of others… It is first a deeply satisfying experience of the fullness of God’s grace, and then a doubly satisfying experience of extending this joy in God to another person.” — John Piper
Just as GOD has DRAWN US into the pre-existent love that He had in Himself; WE too now LIVE to DRAW OTHERS into the love of God we have for Him and one another.

Our PARTICIPATION with God in His loving INITIATIVE to draw His people to Himself is a crucial, ongoing means by which our SALVATION is BOLSTERED and our FEAR of JUDGMENT is ELIMINATED.

The test of sound teaching is: Does it have the gospel as it’s motivating and governing tenet?
1 Corinthians 15:1-5
While there are many anti-christian teachings we must identify and reject, the most pressing are those that claim relation to Christ but are ultimately man-centered or materialistic…
Matthew 7:15-18
Political ‘Christianity’ — overly preoccupied with earthly kings and kingdoms
Prosperity ‘Christianity’ — overly desirous of earthly health and wealth
Peculiar ‘Christianity’ — overly fixated on secondary doctrines or confused about primary ones
Pseudo-pious ‘Christianity’ — overly focused on religious appearances to the neglect of true faith
There is only one sure-fire way to grow in discernment and guard against false teaching: Listen committedly and consistently to the Word of God, over and above all else.

The gospel not only offers FORGIVENESS of sin, it offers a new life with a clear CONSCIENCE and thus CONFIDENCE before God.
Romans 5:1 // Romans 8:1
“Our consciences are the internal mechanism given to us by God to drive us toward sincerity. Like an internal accountability partner, the conscience acts as a witness in our hearts and minds to either “accuse or even excuse” our actions (Rom. 2:15). When we inform the conscience with biblical truth we are telling it to accurately hold us in check against the standard of Scripture. The conscience itself is not our benchmark, but if kept clear and clean it becomes a powerful instrument of integrity as it drives us toward the grand, inflexible benchmark – God’s Word.” — Jerry Wragg
While our consciences are CLEANSED in Christ, they REQUIRE ongoing TRAINING and MAINTENANCE due to indwelling SIN.

The LOGIC // The concept of sin was an INVENTION of the DEVIL who Jesus came to DESTROY along with his demonic initiative for our ETERNAL DEATH. This fact makes INTENTIONAL, HABITUAL, ‘ENJOYABLE’ sin INCONCEIVABLE to Christians.
